Crabrante hits the ground after attacking the kid but Saitama rescues him.

Crabrante is one of the first monsters Saitama encounters three years before he becomes the “One-Punch Man.”

Though his appearance is brief, particularly in Volume 1 Chapter 2 of the manga, the sources offer a humorous look at his origins, motivations, and ultimate demise.

Appearance

  • Crab-like Humanoid: Crabrante is described as a giant crab monster having humanoid features. He has a red shell on his upper body and a muscular lower body that resembles a man..
  • Underwear: Crabrante wears underwear and that’s about it to cover his lower body.
  • Shell: He has a large, hard shell on his back, similar to a crab.
  • Claws: He possesses powerful claws that he uses to attack.
  • Nipples: Notably, he has drawn nipples on his shell, the source of his rage.

Personality

  • Short-Tempered and Vengeful: Crabrante is easily angered, particularly by the prank involving the drawn nipples. He becomes obsessed with finding the culprit and inflicting punishment.
  • Single-Minded: His focus on revenge blinds him to other possibilities, ultimately leading to his downfall.

Quote

Blub blub blub, Lol! You have the same lifeless eye as me. As a fellow dude with lifeless eyes, I’ll let you off the hook this time.

Look, that little poop dared draw nipples on this gorgeous body of mine! What’s more, he used a permanent marker! I can’t even whip myself that hard with these claws!

Bluub-Bluub Lol!

Origins and Motivations

Crabrante was once a normal human who underwent a bizarre transformation:

  • He excessively ate crabs.
  • This led to him mutating into a crab-like monster.

His primary motivation in the story is to find and punish the person who drew nipples on his shell while he slept.

This seemingly trivial reason highlights Crabrante’s comedic nature and foreshadows the series’ penchant for blending humor and action.

Abilities, Power, and Skills

  • Giant Size and Strength: Crabrante’s large size and claws grant him significant physical strength. He is strong enough to easily smash the ground and throw Saitama with one strike.
  • Durability: His crab shell provides him with a degree of protection.

Attacks Used

Crabrante didn’t specify a name for his attacks but he smashed the concrete with his hard pincers.

And since he’s a crab, he could also use those pincers to cut his prey.

Enemies Fought

Victories

Crabrante didn’t fight anyone besides Saitama. But on his way to find the kid who drew nipples on his chest, he claimed to defeat some civilians.

Defeats

  • Saitama: Despite being a normal person, Saitama defeated Crabrante by tying his tie to Crabrante’s right eye and pulling it.

Draw (Not Decided)

We can assume that his fight with the kid (though not actually a fight if it happened) is a draw since Saitama intervened.

Disaster Level

Crabrante is classified as a Disaster-Level Tiger monster.

Fate

Crabrante is defeated by Saitama. When Crabrante attacks a kid who vandalized him while sleeping in the park, Saitama steps in and saves the child.

He takes down the monster by wrapping his necktie around Crabrante’s eye and ripping it out, ultimately defeating him.

Saitama defeats Crabrante by pulling out his eye.

Overall Impression

Crabrante is a comedic villain whose absurd origins and motivations contrast with the seriousness of other monsters in One Punch Man

He represents the lighter side of the series and showcases Saitama’s strength even before he reaches his full potential.

His defeat serves as a stepping stone in Saitama’s journey toward becoming a hero, albeit a slightly bizarre one.
