Fans of 2024’s manga of the year, Dandadan by Yukinobu Tatsu, will have to wait a little longer for the next chapter, as the series has officially entered its longest hiatus to date.
The last chapter, Chapter 182, was published on January 20, 2025, and the manga will resume on February 25, 2025, with Chapter 183.
This 36-day break marks the longest pause in the series’ history, surpassing the previous record of 35 days set between Chapter 163 and Chapter 164 in 2024.

What is Dandadan?
Dandadan is a unique blend of comedy, action, and supernatural elements that has captivated readers worldwide since its debut.
The story follows Ken Takakura, an occult enthusiast who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Momo Ayase, a girl who doesn’t believe in aliens.
Their unlikely partnership leads them into a chaotic world filled with ghosts, aliens, and otherworldly creatures, creating a story that is both hilarious and thrilling.
The manga’s popularity skyrocketed further when its anime adaptation aired its first season from October to December 2024, garnering millions of views globally.
The anime’s success introduced Dandadan to an even broader audience, solidifying its status as a phenomenon.
A Well-Deserved Break
Yukinobu Tatsu, widely praised for his resilience and unmatched work ethic, rarely takes breaks longer than 14 days.
Prior to this hiatus, the longest pause in Dandadan’s publication schedule was 35 days between Chapter 163 (July 29, 2024) and Chapter 164 (September 2, 2024).
Fans have taken to social media to express their support, with one saying, “This break isn’t for him. It’s for us because once he gets started, it will be nonstop peak.”
Another commented, “Tatsu deserves this. He’s the most resilient mangaka in the industry right now.”
Regular Release Schedule Resumes in February
The break may feel long for fans accustomed to Dandadan’s regular Monday releases at 10 a.m. EST (or 11 a.m. EST during daylight savings time) and midnight JST.
However, anticipation is building for the series’ return on February 25, 2025, with many expecting Tatsu to deliver yet another round of thrilling storytelling and jaw-dropping artwork.
