Dr. Genus is a highly intelligent, brilliant, yet morally ambiguous scientist. After he made a breakthrough in his 70s, he regained his youth and cloned himself.
He was the creator and leader of the House of Evolution, a secret organization dedicated to genetic experimentation and creating enhanced lifeforms.
Dr. Genus is obsessed with human evolution, convinced that humanity’s potential lies in artificial enhancement.
He first appeared in Chapter 9, Volume 2 of the manga where he revealed he created Armored Gorilla, Mosquito Girl, Beast King, Carnage Kabuto, and other mutants.
Seeing how Saitama gained his ridiculous superhuman strength, he abandoned the House of Evolution and built the House of Takoyaki instead.
Appearance
Dr. Genus undergoes a significant change in appearance.
Initially, he appears as a youthful man with slicked-back hair, despite being 70 years old. This youthful appearance is a result of his scientific advancements, allowing him to regain his youth.
He wears eyeglasses and is often serious, even when running the Takoyaki shop. His encounter with Saitama still haunts him to this day.
Personality
- Brilliant but Arrogant: Dr. Genus possesses a genius-level intellect that fuels his ambition and drives him to push the boundaries of science. He views himself as superior to ordinary humans, referring to them as “stupid animals”. This arrogance blinds him to the ethical implications of his actions.
- Obsessive and Ruthless: Dr. Genus is fixated on achieving scientific breakthroughs, even if it means resorting to morally questionable methods. He is willing to sacrifice his creations, including his clones, to achieve his goals, demonstrating a ruthless pragmatism in his pursuit of knowledge.
- Disillusioned and Desperate: Despite his brilliance, Dr. Genus is plagued by a sense of disappointment and frustration with the limitations of human potential. His experiments, including the creation of Carnage Kabuto, seem driven by a desire to transcend those limitations, even if it means creating beings that could pose a threat to humanity.

Quote
They say it’s dangerous! They call me a crank! Do they think the human race made it this far by avoiding risks?!
I’m done with my experiments. I’ll change myself instead.

Abilities, Power, and Skills
- Scientific Genius: Dr. Genus’s primary strength lies in his exceptional intellect. He is a master of genetic manipulation and cloning, allowing him to create powerful and unique creatures such as Carnage Kabuto.
- Strategic Mind: While not a fighter himself, Dr. Genus possesses a strategic mind, evident in his creation of the House of Evolution and his attempts to utilize his creations to defeat Saitama and Genos.
- Clone Creation: Dr. Genus created multiple clones of himself to help him run the House of Evolution. He treats his clones as “disposable” especially when handling Carnage Kabuto.
Enemies Fought
Dr. Genus, a brilliant scientist, lacks combat experience and does not engage in hand-to-hand fights.
Instead, he creates and relies on genetically engineered mutants to battle on his behalf.

Fate
After witnessing the defeat of his strongest creation, Carnage Kabuto, by Saitama, he loses all hope of continuing his experiments and shifts away from all forms of villainy.
He abandons the House of Evolution and starts the House of Takoyaki later in the series.
Mosquito Girl and Armored Gorilla, who no longer wear armor by that time, help him run the shop.
He is visited by Zombieman, one of his earlier creations, to ask about the guy who removed his limiter.
Despite abandoning the House of Evolution, he still conducts experiments in his basement.
