One Punch Man Chapter 38 – King
A hooded man walks through a bustling crowd, unnoticed.
Suddenly, a reptile-like monster with a long, slithering tongue appears.
The monster, called Tongue Stretcher, starts attacking women and spreading chaos.
Just as panic peaks, S-Class hero King, the Strongest Man on Earth, is revealed to be the man with a hood. The monster freezes, petrified by King’s intimidating presence.
The crowd erupts in cheers as the monster bows, begging for forgiveness. King stands stoic, his “King Engine” roars echoing ominously.

King’s Facade is Exposed
But King’s heroism is a façade. Moments later, he’s seen buying Heartthrob Sisters, a dating sim game.
Saitama and Genos, observing him, note his casual demeanor.
Suddenly, a giant robot monster appears, challenging King. The crowd cheers, but King, overwhelmed by fear, retreats to a toilet, sweating profusely.
He admits to himself that he’s weak and the “King Engine” is just his terrified heartbeat.
Meanwhile, Genos steps up, engaging the robot in a fierce battle, showcasing his incredible combat skills.
Genos Versus the Robot
As Genos fights, King returns home to play his game. Saitama mysteriously appears in his room, startling King.
Their awkward interaction reveals King’s insecurities.
Meanwhile, Genos incinerates the robot, only for a smaller, more agile robot to emerge, reigniting the fight.
King Gets Attacked
An emergency warning interrupts: a giant monster bird attacks City M. Saitama effortlessly stops it with his hand, urging King to face the threat.
King, paralyzed by fear, fails to act.
Genos, still battling the small robot, uses fire extinguishers and hydrants to gain the upper hand.

One Punch Man Chapter 39 – That Man
King, the so-called “Strongest Man on Earth”, cowers in fear as a giant monster bird crashes into his apartment.
Saitama, holding the beast effortlessly, stares at him, waiting for answers. King, drenched in sweat, finally breaks.
King Admits His Weakness
He admits the truth: he’s weak. His legendary reputation is built on lies.
Monsters he supposedly defeated were actually taken down by others- often Saitama, who vanished before taking credit.
As King trembles, the monster bird screeches, but Saitama casually kills it. Blood splatters, and King, terrified, pees his pants.
The sight of Saitama standing amidst the carnage forces King to confront his past.
King Recalls His Past
He remembers being attacked as a child by the Octoclaw Man, leaving him scarred. A young hero saved him that day- a hero who bore a striking resemblance to Saitama.
Overwhelmed, King breaks down, confessing everything to Saitama. He’s a fraud, living off the Hero Association’s money and the public’s admiration.
Saitama listens calmly, then offers simple advice: “Be strong.” With that, he leaves, groceries in hand, leaping off the building.

One Punch Man Chapter 40 – Outlaws
Genos, slightly damaged, returns to Dr. Kuseno’s lab with robot parts scavenged from his latest battle.
Dr. Kuseno questions their origin but incorporates them into Genos’ upgrades.
Genos reaffirms his goal: to become a top 10 Class S hero and avenge his destroyed hometown.
Though he has no leads on the rogue cyborg responsible, his resolve is unshaken. Dr.
Kuseno urges caution, advising Genos to report back if he finds the cyborg rather than engaging alone.
Sitch’s Meeting with the Underworld Denizens
Meanwhile, at the Hero Association, Director Sitch convenes a meeting with underworld denizens. He warns of an impending threat, urging unity to survive.
However, Speed-o’-Sound Sonic dismisses the call, tossing aside the documents and mocking the idea of playing hero.
His disdain irritates Sitch and Blue Fire, but Sonic leaves anyway.
Tensions rise as the criminals bicker. One taunts Heavy Loincloth, only to be punched down.
Garou emerges and boasts of his dojo-destroying spree and mocking the prophecy. Sitch realizes he’s dealing with chaos incarnate.

One Punch Man Chapter 40.5 – Lost Cat
Saitama is tasked with finding a missing cat, while Genos is approached by an association member to kill a monster.
Saitama struggles with a poorly drawn sketch of the cat and deals with the bratty kid who owns it. The kid threatens to fire Saitama, but he remains unfazed.
Meanwhile, Genos follows a blood trail and finds two Class A heroes, Peach Terry and Heavy Kong, injured.
A monstrous cat with many eyes and sharp teeth attacks Genos.
The Monster Cat Encounter
Saitama, with the kid on his shoulder, enters a restricted area guarded by Tank-top Blackhole and Tank-top Tiger.
He sees a cat, but suddenly, Genos crashes through a wall, thrown by the monster cat. Saitama and the kid leave Genos for his fight and continue their search.
The monster cat then attacks Lightning Genji and Stinger, who fight back but are overwhelmed.
A larger monster cat appears, roaring loudly. Saitama and Genos hear the roar while Lightning Genji and Stinger rescue a child chasing her cat.
The huge monster cat attacks the normal cat, but Saitama blocks its claw and catches the cat. He destroys the monster cat with one punch.
The child hugs her cat, named Torako, while Genos and Saitama reunite.
Saitama doubts his suitability as a professional hero, but Genos reassures him. Suddenly, the cat scratches Saitama’s face, ending their adventure on a humorous note.

One Punch Man Chapter 40.6 – Lobster
Bang receives a lobster delivery while on the phone. He invites Saitama and Genos to eat the lobsters, but Genos declines.
Saitama insists on eating, and soon, Charanko arrives with vegetables.
They all start cooking together, but tension arises when Saitama asks about napa cabbage, which Charanko didn’t buy.
Genos gets angry, leading to an argument with Charanko. Bang decides to buy the napa cabbage himself, instructing Charanko to get along with the others.
Unexpected Visitors
As they finish cooking, a gang from Bad Roads School arrives, seeking to crush Bang’s dojo. Charanko faces the leader while Saitama and Genos prepare to eat.
A gang member attacks Charanko, who gets scared and is thrown, almost landing in the hotpot.
Saitama catches him with chopsticks. Another gang member tries to stomp the lobsters, but Genos intervenes, attacking and throwing him out.

Saitama’s Intervention and Garou’s Appearance
Saitama, now angry, throws the attacking gang members away using chopsticks.
Bang returns to find his dojo in disarray.
The defeated gang members encounter Garou on the road, who beats them and introduces himself as a villain while leaving them injured.
