Demonic Fan Versus The Fubuki Group, Tatsumaki, & Saitama

Demon Fan or Demonic Fan is a mechanical monster and is indeed one of the strongest in the series, able to easily defeat Fubuki.

This was my reaction early in the series when this enemy showed up in Volume 3 Chapter 20.6 of the One Punch Man manga.

As a demon-level monster, Demonic Fan appears out of nowhere and easily beats B-Class heroes, including the whole Blizzard Group.

It also had incredible regenerative abilities that even Tatsumaki wasn’t aware of.

Despite its strength, this monster was easily defeated by Saitama.

The Fubuki Group taking cover as Demonic Fan blows them away with powerful winds.

Background/ Build-Up

The battle takes place inside the upper floors of a building where Demonic Fan, a four-legged mechanical monster with a rotating three-bladed fan, appears.

With its ability to generate devastatingly powerful winds, it effortlessly overwhelms Class B and C heroes, including The Fubuki Group.

Fight Breakdown

Demonic Fan vs. The Fubuki Group

As the Blizzard Group attempts to fight back, they are quickly overwhelmed by Demonic Fan’s brutal winds.

Many are flung away, while others desperately seek shelter behind concrete columns.

Fubuki arrives, shielding herself with a telekinetic barrier and launching an attack with cement pebbles, which initially gives her allies hope.

However, the monster retaliates with an even stronger wind, pinning everyone to the wall and leaving Fubuki injured, coughing blood.

Fubuki and the Blizzard Group pinned into the wall due to Demonic Fan's strong wind attacks.

Demonic Fan vs. Tatsumaki

Just when defeat seems inevitable, Tatsumaki bursts onto the scene, blasting through a thick wall.

She immediately assesses the situation and scolds Glasses (Megane) for his weakness.

Before the monster can attack again, Tatsumaki erects a psychic barrier and easily dismantles Demonic Fan’s mechanical body, reducing it to rubble.

After ensuring Fubuki is safe, Tatsumaki leaves, believing the battle is over. However, things are far from finished.

Tatsumaki defeats Demonic Fan while Glasses (Megane) watch by.

Demonic Fan vs. Saitama

While Glasses (Megane) contemplates his own weakness, Saitama arrives, searching for the monster he heard about on the news.

Just as Glasses explains that the battle is over, Demonic Fan begins reconstructing itself, revealing its true resilience.

Realizing that Tatsumaki failed to destroy the propeller, Glasses panics as the monster regains full strength.

Demonic Fan blows powerful Wind as Glasses sits before him feeling hopeless.

Saitama, unfazed, starts walking towards it. Glasses desperately pleads for him to retreat, believing that a mere Class-C hero has no chance against such a powerful enemy.

Demonic Fan unleashes an immensely powerful wind attack, but Saitama effortlessly punches through it, sending the monster flying outside the building, where it explodes into oblivion.

Glasses is left in awe, realizing that Saitama, despite being ranked so low, effortlessly defeated the Demon-Level threat with a single blow.

Conclusion

This is what I love about One Punch Man.

In most mainstream anime, the main character struggles against an overwhelming foe but eventually triumphs through sheer determination, inspiration, or a last-minute power-up.

But One Punch Man is different.

Saitama is already overpowered. He doesn’t need a dramatic struggle- he just shows up and obliterates the enemy.

This time, it’s Demonic Fan, and like always, he defeats it with a single punch while the so-called protagonists struggle in vain.
