Snek, sometimes called “Sneck,” is an A-Class hero, a lecturer at the Hero Association, and a martial artist known for his “Biting Snake Fist” fighting style. 

He is among the heroes who confront the Deep Sea King to protect civilians in Volume 5 Chapter 25 of the manga. 

During the Martial Arts Tournament, Snek participates in his sixth appearance and wins his fight against Benpatsu but is later defeated by Suiryu. 

He teams up with Lightning Max to save Suiryu from monster crows and Gouketsu after monsters invade the tournament. 

Later in the series, Snek is tasked with investigating the murder of an executive by a monster but feels duped after Child Emperor reveals that the culprit was already found and secretly exterminated.

Appearance

  • Pointy Hair and Chin: Snek has a somewhat long chin and pointy, unkempt black pointy hair.
  • Snake-like Suit: He wears a distinctive brown and gold camouflage jacket and pants that resemble the skin of a snake, featuring irregular splotches and shapes in varying shades of gold and brown. Underneath, he pairs it with a burgundy or dark red dress shirt and a black tie.
  • Burgundy Undershirt: He sometimes takes off his Snake-like outer suit and wears his maroon long-sleeved undershirt when in his office.
  • Classic Kung Fu Uniform: During the Martial Arts Tournament Arc, Snek wears a classic white kung fu uniform with black trimming that extends from the neck down to the midsection. The uniform features a maroon snake logo accented in yellow on his arms and around his body.

Personality

  • Proud Martial Artist: Snek showcases confidence in his ability, especially to the newcomers in the Hero Association like Saitama in his first appearance in Volume 3 Chapter 16 of the manga.
  • Authoritative and Stern: During the debriefing, Snek becomes very authoritative, believing that Saitama passed the Hero Exam by luck. He encourages the new heroes to become strong like him in a very stern manner.
  • Envious: After hearing one of the H.A. executives say that Saitama might surpass him, Snek sneaks up to challenge and defeat Saitama.
  • Arrogant: Snek thinks his higher rank and seniority in the Hero Association means a lot. He even thinks amateurs like Saitama and Genos might easily be defeated because they seemed ignorant.
  • Heroic: Despite the overwhelming power, he stands and fights against Deep Sea King and even protects Suiryu against Bakuzan, Gouketsu, and his crows.
  • Self-aware: After getting his ass kicked by Saitama and Deep Sea King, Snek humbles himself, acknowledges the stronger heroes, and becomes self-aware of his limitations. He continues to hone his skills, determined to improve and grow stronger.
  • Ambitious: Like many A-Class heroes, Snek is concerned with increasing his hero rank. This was evident when he saw Suiryu defeat Lightning Max, and he himself desired to defeat Suiryu.

Abilities, Powers, and Skills

  • Snake-like Aura: Snek produces a snake-like aura with his hand movements when attacking his enemy.
  • Bite-like Grip: His hand grip resembles a snake biting his prey, as what Benpatsu experienced when fighting him.
  • Enhanced Speed: Snek’s snake-style martial arts allow him to move above average speed, especially his limbs when attacking.
  • Enhanced Reflexes: He managed to dodge Deep Sea King’s initial attack but was hit on the second one.
  • Enhanced Body: Despite getting hit by the transformed Deep Sea King, Snek manages to recover, even 

Attacks Used

  • Biting Snake Fist: Snek uses snake-style martial arts in his attempt to defeat Saitama, which includes agile, rapid strikes. He lands one blow to Saitama’s face but is easily outmatched. He also uses this when fighting Deep Sea King with other heroes.
  • Coiling Defense: Snek moves one of his hands in a circular motion to deflect his opponent’s attack. He used this against one of the Crows beak attacks.

Equipment and Weapons

Snek uses no specific weapons or equipment other than his snakeskin battlesuit.

  • Snakeskin Suit: A battlesuit made from the skin of a ferocious snake-type monster he exterminated in the past. The suit repels claw, fang, and beak attacks.

Victories

  • Snake-type Monster: Not shown in the manga, but Snek mentioned this monster as the source of his snakeskin battlesuit.
  • Fighting Bull-Frog: A Tiger-level monster frog with horns, sharp teeth, and a ring on its nose that he defeated, earning him the crowd’s cheer.
  • Three Crows: Together with Lightning Max and Suiryu, Snek defeated the Demon-level monster Three Crows.

Defeats

  • Saitama: Snek attempts to fight Saitama, but he is easily defeated. Despite landing a blow on Saitama’s face, he is knocked out quickly when Saitama continues walking unharmed.
  • Deep Sea King: Snek and three other heroes try to fight Deep Sea King. Although he dodged the monster’s initial attack, he was hit by another punch.
  • Gouketsu: During the awarding ceremony of the Martial Arts Tournament, Gouketsu appeared to turn the martial artists into monsters. Snek and Lightning Max stop him but they get blown away with just one kick. They came back to help Suiryu escape but got knocked down again.

Ranks:

Snek is a hero in the Hero Association who was first introduced as” Class A, Rank 38” in Chapter 16.  

Later in the Manga, he advanced to “Rank 37” (still in Class A).

Fate:

Snek was given an investigative task by the Hero Association to look into the death of an executive, which occurred two years ago and was allegedly caused by a monster.

However, Child Emperor informed him that the monster had been discreetly killed six months prior, making the investigation a waste of time. 

This revelation infuriated Snek, as he realized he had been duped by the Hero Association. 

They had known all along that the case was already solved and were involved in other illegal dealings.
